Cats

Feline Distemper/FVRCP (1- and 3-year · CORE)

  • Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia
    • highly contagious airborne diseases that affect the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts, leading to long term health issues and even death
  • Cats must be at least 6 weeks old to receive the vaccine. Boosters are given every 3–4 weeks until 16 weeks of age. 
    • Booster series to restart if a booster is missed

Dogs & Cats

Rabies (1- and 3-year · CORE)

  • Contagious fatal virus that can pass from animal to human
  • Pet must be 3lbs and 12 weeks to be vaccinated
  • Per Virginia law, all cats and dogs over the age of 3 months old MUST be vaccinated for rabies. 

Dogs

Distemper/DHPP/DAPP (1- and 3-year · CORE)

  • Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvo
    • Affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous system leading to long term health issues and even death
  • Dog must be at least 8 weeks old to receive the vaccine. The vaccine must be boostered every 3-4 weeks until 16 weeks old. 
    • Booster series to restart if a booster is missed

Leptospirosis (1 year - can be given with DHPP or separately)

  • Protects against leptospirosis infected water and soil
    • Causes liver/kidney issues and can be passed to humans
  • Starts at 12 weeks old
    • Must be boostered once after 3-4 week

Lifestyle Vaccines

  • For dogs that interact frequently with other dogs (grooming, play groups etc)
    • Bordetella - prevents kennel cough
    • Flu - protects against two highly contagious strains of flu
